100,000yen benefit For partners and children escaping from domestic violence
The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications has summarized the application procedures necessary for partners and children escaping abuse from the head of the household (setainushi) to receive the uniform benefit of 100,000 yen due to the spread of the coronavirus, and is calling to visit the service counter at the municipal office of current residence between the 24th ~ 30th of this month.
The uniform benefit of 100,000 yen was arranged so that the head of the household (setainushi) can apply and have benefits of all family members transferred into the head of the household’s bank account, however, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications has decided and summarized procedures for partners and children escaping abuse to receive their benefit apart from the head of the household.
According to the summary, citizens can receive the benefit, including that of children, even if their current address of residence where they are evacuating differs from that on the residence certificate by applying at the municipal office in the city they currently reside in.
However, applicants must submit documents to support their situation that they are escaping abuse from the head of the household along with the prescribed application form at the service counter of the municipal office beforehand between the 24 and 30th of this month, in order to prevent duplicate payments to the head of the household.
Benefit payments will not be made to the head of the household even after application, when citizens apply by this method. The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications asks for “an early response even though applications will be accepted after the specified period”.
